I think Trixie has this...

For some reason Trixie is sooo attached to me now. I cant even go out anymore because she will sit at home cry/whine and pace the floor.

I went out last night and my sister had to call me up to ask me when I was coming home because Trixie wouldn't lay down and be quiet.

What I don't get is, she had my sister home with her, so it was not like she was "alone" in the house, BUT it could be my sister is not really a animal person and she sense that?

If I go to work, and if I don't leave the blinds open, she will tear them down. She will also look out the window and "watch" me leave. Sometimes but not always she will bark and claw at the window.

When I get home from work, she gets SOOO Happy to see me. She will pee and jump around and be all happy.

Sometimes. I take her over to my parents if I have to go out of town. They tell me all she does it look out the window for me.

I don't know what to do??...Any help?

Sounds a lot like Mason but he's not quite that bad. I think he's learned to accept that I have to go to work everyday. But he still wets the floor with excitement when I return. Fortunately, he's learned to go on the back porch when I get home for just that reason.

Ronin had terrible separation anxiety when I first got him - he'd apparently bark and howl, pace, whine, etc. when I left for class or work.

The solution? A crate.

I crated him right next to Ilsa, so he could touch her if he wanted to. I had Ilsa sleep in her crate to keep him company, and I turned on the TV to give him some "white noise" to distract him.

When I was home, I stopped taking him everywhere with me. I had previously taken him to get my mail, take out the trash, mow the lawn... so I just left him in the house instead of lettign him come with me. When I'd return, I'd ignore him - like it was no ig deal that I'd left in the first place.

He's gotten much better.

yep - I agree on the ignoring front - when you come home, it's good just to walk in and get on with your stuff and ignore the dog - afterall, you want to enforce that you coming and going is no big deal.

Same when you leave, just walk on out - no goodbyes.

I know, but its so hard. Ha ha. I feel so mean

Also, to add to this. When I do get home, she will just go into my room and go to sleep.
