selling my rabbit

ok. if all goes to plan and we move... we will be moving a state where rabbits are illegal. i really don't wanna have to rehome my little girl but i can't keep living here. there are too many benifits to moving away from this hole of a town.

only thing is. i want to find the best home possible for my bunny. i won't just gove her away because i don't want to risk her going to the hands of some sick freak.

any tips on what to do to find her the perfect home ?

Maybe you could join a rabbit forum and post an adoption ad? That way, people who are familiar with rabbits could adopt her

What state are rabbits illegal in? That is so strange!

We have the same thing in AU - rabbits are illegal in some states. Daft and futile really, because the wild bunnies can hop the borders by themselves in droves, but one caged pet in the care of a human isn't allowed!!

The assumption is that two unneutered rabbits which escape, meet and..er..'get married' ... will lead to 1000s of wild ones over a couple of years. The problem is that they chew through vast amounts of vegetation, destroy crops, etc. They are considered vermin.

Rabbits aren't native to AU, but some bright spark Englishman brought some over a couple of hundred years ago and let them loose for shooting practice! Lovely (not) ... stupid (definitely). Farmers have been trying to get rid of them ever since. (Seems the original guy wasn't a very good shot.)

Aww. I'm so sorry. We moved to a home where we couldn't have a bunny too, and had to re-home ours. Thankfully a friend of ours was looking for a bunny, and we gave him to her with all his supplies. We live in a rent house, and my dad said NO way, because he cost us 1,200 in damage to our last rent house from chewing the carpet, and urinating on the wood floors. This house belongs to friends, and my dad doesn't want to mess anything up. When we build our house, though I'd love to have a new bunny. Good luck re-homing your bun-bun! It's so sad to say good bye, but make sure it's someone who will constantly send pictures, and updates. I always look forward to new pix of my Frosty-Boo!!! Here is a picture I got of him before we gave him up.

I believe mrose_s lives in Australia where rabbits aren't native's. So I bet they just don't want them escaping and becoming a problem for their wildlife .

nah. i am in australia. mum said if we are looking at living close enough to the border of NSW. then we'll just live on the edge of NSW. or we'll sneak her into QLD. lol. but i dunno if i want to take that risk
