Sites like this are sooo frustrating. Not only is this person selling really, really badly bred/mixed breeds, they're saying that their non merle dogs "carry merle."

These are supposed to be chihuahuas :yikes: Look at how scruffy their faces are:

These pictures completely negate this:

Our goal is to breed the best possible puppies and to continue to improve the breed. We breed for quality, health and temperament. This involves much study and careful attention in matching up the best pairs to breed together. Breeding is a never ending learning experience and we are continually educating ourselves in order to assure that you will be getting the healthiest, happiest puppy possible. As new discoveries are made we are better able to improve our dog breeding and puppy rearing. I am always happy to pass along information, after all it only helps the animals we love.
The site has bigger pictures and can be found here: Available Chihuahua Puppies

Wowza!!!! All I can say is buyer beware. What a shame, especially since it wouldn't be such a big deal to breed some decent Chihuahuas. These people don't care what they're doing and that is disgusting.

Is it just me or does the ears on the first pup look wrong?

***forget it, I took a closer look and it's tape.

That's what I thought at first too. It's very, very unusual to tape a chi's ears.

I've seen some really poorly bred chis, but those are high up there as some of the worst ones I've seen.

LOL show quality?

The Chihuahuas that I breed are of the show quality but I prefer them to be pampered pets. I have apple heads Chihuahuas. Some of my Chihuahuas have regular noses and some of my Chihuahuas have short noses.

What bothers me more actually is the photo of the puppy next to a soda can. There is a disturbing trend in "accessory" pets and anything that seems all about making the dog as small as possible does not seem to me to put the health of the breed and the individual dog first.

Wow...if you showed me those pictures and asked me to guess what breed they were, I wouldn't even think chihuahua. They don't look like chis at all.

I hope someone calls her out. Some of my Chihuahuas look one way, some another way and some another way altogether....ummmm....yup...show quality. In other words, she's not breeding to any standard. Someone ought to rip her a new one. It's so irresponsible.

Wow. :yikes: And yes, that's coming from the owner of Lucy. :rofl1:

I've loved chihuahuas since I met my first one, before I was even old enough to start school, and I've met a lot of them since- oversized chis, undersized chis, floppy eared chis, show quality chis, chis miles away from the standard, and my chi is IMO completely weird looking, out of standard, oversized, but I can spot when a chi is actually a mix.

One hint is when they have wired fur.

Kind of like "toy Aussies" that are 11-12 inches tall and CLEARLY have Pom or at the very least Sheltie in there!

Those are some strange looking 'Chihuahuas' for sure. What a shame people actually buy it.

Reality show, maybe...

My guess is she copied and pasted off of someone else's site, because there's no way anyone could type that with a straight face.

^ There were a couple that look like they have some Doxie in them, to me at least lol.

S/he wants $1500 for the 10oz soda can pup. She must be smoking something strong because that pup is going to have soooo many health issues at that size.

People just....... UGH!

THIS!

Like you said, there are sooo many ways for a chi to be out of breed standards and still BE a chihuahua. That wired fur makes it completely obvious that they're passing mixes off as chihuahuas.

It's especially frustrating because people buy these dogs, they grow up to have crappy temperaments and then people think THAT is how chis are. Breeders like this are how toy breeds get such bad names. The parents of these puppies aren't bred for anything other than greed, the puppies are sold as accessories, and these puppies grow up to be such poor examples of their breeds.

I think 'breeder' is too nice a term for these guys. Taking a look at the website, I'm wondering, just how many breeds do these guys have and how many puppies a year are they pumping out with no regard to standard, health and temperament?

Hate to judge, but it looks like a finely disguised 'puppy mill' to me looking at the 'contract'.

"I'd like to see some papers for my show quality dog...oh wait...what's that? Oh! Show quality as in I can have a dog show in my own backyard and invite you so you can sell more dogs? This sounds great!"
