I'm looking for some people in the Seattle area to talk to about my dogs, Chewy and Lola. They have serious dog reactivity issues and I live in an environment where I can't ignore the problem anymore. I've never looked around for trainers before so what should I look for and what should I expect to pay, etc.
The issue as it stands now is that if I'm walking them together and they encounter another dog face to face they will get snappy, I pull them back, then they redirect onto each other. Never landed any actual bites on anything, it's just the usual loud and scary nonsense. From afar they are okay if I have them close to my side and keep walking. Even walking right past another dog they are okay if I don't let them stop to sniff. These are loooong standing issues but in the past I've been able to avoid situations where it's come to light. Now I have both dogs in the city while I go to school, so it's all coming to a head and I'm worried about consequences.
Any and all advice will be appreciated. I've been on Chaz for a while; I know there are some great minds on here!
