I know it doesn't mean anything but the fact that they don't even require proof of a doctors note or anything made me go like ... wut?
Actual conversation I have had with my previous doctor:
Doctor: "So, what illness caused your speech issues?"
Me: "..... I'm deaf."
Doctor: "I understand, but what illness is giving you difficulty with speech?"
Me: ".... My deafness."
Doctor: "I don't think I'm being clear in what I mean. I am wondering what happened that caused you to have a speech issue?"
Me: "................... I became deaf."
I walked out of the office and never came back to this doctor. I am really glad that proof of a doctor's note is not necessary, as it is not proof of need or legitimacy of an disability.
Furthermore, a doctor can only determine whether you have an impairment or not, they are not able to determine whether your impairment is a disability.
