My daughter got school pics today. They do it so much different now than they did when I was in school. They send home two proofs or poses home the first day. It looks like because they do this there are no retakes. But you can order two different poses if you want.

LOL I don't like either of my daughters poses. She is always goofy and hard to take a serious pretty smile (shes 5 and is such a joker). You can tell she did try hard but it still shows through. On top of that its expensive! Just to get a picture card of her class is $8. The smallest package is $12 and you don't get much at all with that. I am thinking about getting her class pic because you gotta have that and going to Walmart for a much better deal on number of pics you get for the price with a good pose on top of that.

But its neat and interesting the way they do it now. I wonder if I can some how internet access the pics to share with you all? Let me check....

We did not even order school pictures this year. Last year Gabe forgot to give them his money so they took his on retake day but we didn't know when that was so he wasn't dressed nice and his hair was static cling all over the place. They are wayyyyy to expensive. I will just take them to walmart, sears, jc penny, etc and get them done there!

We do the same thing Adrienne. The price and quality of school pictures are just so ridiculous any more that we don't even bother. There was a time when it was the cheapest way to get a yearly picture of your child.........but photographers have so many "deals" worked out with the schools and its the parents who get screwed.

We normally go to penny's, the kids pick out the pose/pictures they like best and we know in advance if they are nice. We save AT LEAST 50%, no joke.

A little secret, when I worked for the school I got the largest packet (of myself, even though I didn't want it) FREE as did all the teachers and staff..........even the custodians..........you wonder who carries that cost? ;)

I know and the paper says that the costs are partly going to the school and you wonder for what.... At the same time they cut other needed things because of budget.

I looked on their site and I don't see any where I could bring up my daughters proofs. I know when I went to Walmart in the past you can bring it up online so you could order that way if you chose to. I think I will buy the class pic only because I feel she may wish she had it when she gets older.... but we'll see. But for poses of just her, later down the road I will go to Walmart when I can.
