I switched Katie off the crap she was eating to Chicken Soup. She likes it well and blah blah...

Ive read that some of you give your dogs Sardines in Oil. I was thinking about givin Katie some once a week. How much do u give them, a can? And do you have to de-bone them, or are the bones soft enough?

Oh and should I add hot sauce? (JK) :D

I have 3 large breed dogs. I give all of them in there food twice a day 1-2 Tablespoons of sardines, salmon, or mackeral mixed in their dry dog food. For the Sardines, I usually give them one Sardine in the package. I wouldnt give them the oil though. I buy it in water. Bones and all. Look into the Mackeral too. A can usually costs 83 cents at the most. Cheap Salmon in can runs about $1.70 but by it in water. Then you can poor the water in the can in there too. They love it! I swear by it.

My dogs get sardines in sunflower oil a few times a week, but I do drain most of the sunflower oil out, if I remember the other type in water you have to make sure it is water ONLY not brine, as this is far too salty for the dogs.
