My wife and I have a one-year-old Beagle/Australian Shepherd mix.

She loves to run. I go jogging almost every day, but I have not trained her to run with mb because I'm concerned that running for a half hour on the concrete with me all the time will damage her joints, etc. in the future.

Am I right? I love my dog and I don't want to do anything shorten her life or the quality of her health. Am I being too paranoid?

Thanks in advance!

I would maybe wait until she's 18 months old to give those growth plates time to close. But you could call your vet and ask. Is there somewhere you could go run that would not be on concrete/payment? If that kind of impact is not good for your girl's knees, just think about what it could do to yours :D If you could find a park-like area and start running her on gravel or grass, that would likely be the best way to start.
