Roxy hasent wanted to eat or drink much today. I was nervouse at first and called the vet about it since it is 5 days early (60 days pregnant) and he asked if i had taken her temp today i hadent yet. It was relatively low!!! I asked if it was too early and he told me know she could give birth to happy healthy puppies im going to check her temp again here in an hour. He told me she definatly sounds like she's getting to that point and could go into labor anytime now and just keep checking her temp!!! i am shaking right now as I type this and was the main reason before when i made the post about puppy names!!! Im going to take a early nap now because I plane on staying up with Roxy tonight in the Laundry room Jamie took off from work and is going to take over watching her and the other dogs while I nap!!! She is just kind of lazing about rolling on her side alot and laying in her welping box alot!!! And the rug in the living room she's avoiding the other dogs. So be prepared for a late late in the night post about puppies!!!!

5 DAYS EARLY!!!!!!

Roxy wasent feeling lunch either. She has been spending alot more time in her welping box pawing the blankets making a nest!!!!!! HSe now has a temp of 98. degrees !!!! So we have 8-24 hours before puppy time!!!! The other dogs know something is going on Pakak and Zeus are pacing around Tundra keeps on trying to climb in the welping box with Roxy but she won't let her. Its and exciting time here in the house :) .

P.S. Keep the other dogs away so she won't worry .....She needs to consentrate on birthing. I had a female give birth early under our deck once, !!! Rainy day and the other dogs let me know. I crawled under the deck and carried out 2 pups, luckily she followed and the rest were delivered in whelping pen.....Ooooooooooooooooo !!! I;m so excited for you !!!

I have the door shut to the laundry room just for that reason ;). Now other then her having her constant need to go out and go to bathroom.
What i have ready for the welping
* 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of Mineral Oil - in case the pup gets 'stuck'.
* 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of Dettol concentrate - for disinfecting the scissors & forceps between pups.
* 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of Nature's Anwer Concentrate chemical-free cleaner - for post-partum washing of the whelping box.
* 1 ounce (30 ml) of Self Rinse Plus in a "Spritz" Bottle for Post-Partum clean-up of the dam's back end and tail.
* 1 Tablespoon Polycose (powdered Glucose for extra energy.)
* 2 Disposable Clamps for clamping the cord.
* Disposable Scissors for cutting the cord.
* Rectal Thermometer-Dual Read - Celsius/Fahrenheit
* 8 packs of Sterile Lubricant
* 8 "Birthing Cloths" for holding & drying the puppies.
* Whelping Record & Temperature Chart.
*feeding tubes and Esbilac incase a puppy is refused
*Baby monitor for days after puppies are born to make sure all is well

Love4pits,
You make me feel really happy to know you. I am so happy that you are bringing such healthy quality pups into the world. You are very responsible and you should take pride when you see those pups inch their way out. You are bringing quality into the world and I wouldn't be one bit mad if you "boast" about it, because you have truly earned the right... Especially after tonight's long nite!! LOL Anyway, give Roxy my love and all of my dogs' say that they will be thinking about her tonight!!

I only used thread and alchohol in the dark ages ! one pair of blunt scissors . Lots of dry towels ...heating pad... don't bottle feed if the pup can nurse some.... put the weakest at the hind teats..... the stronger nursers at front to stimulate the smaller glands. Know you know this.... just info for newbies!

If it's dark there... I'm sure you're following her with a flash light as she " squats "....

Not dark yet lol but I do do that last time I had a dog have a litter my friend was here to assist and she laughed when i walked out with a flash light with Bright (the one who had puppies). She asked jokingly "what you afraid a puppy is going to pop out" I look at her and said "you never know".
