Alrighty, so were taken yesterday and the day before, I think, but I've put them all together. We got like 6" of snow yesterday and now it's RAINED  and we have slush. Thanks a lot, nature.

Anyways Romey had fun in the snow and I've only posted 1 other photo thread on him so here you go. The photos aren't the best, because I still don't know how to operate a camera lol, so I apologize. I think I need a bigger f stop. Also LOl I'll fix my sig and avatar now... they're kind of ugly pictures but I was too lazy to change them lol.

Back and forth and back and forth and back and forth… I love how dogs get crazy happy when there’s snow out. Lol.

my brother's in the car, and Romey's acting all "OMG you just got homee HIIII" lol even though my brother never left

He thinks I threw something, but he didn't see it leave my hand, hence the confusion.

Nice kinda wolfy expression here, but WHY COULDN'T HIS FACE HAVE BEEN IN FOCUS???

Running!

He wants my stick

MORE.

Pretty:

lol. He really scrunches up when he runs.

Catching something. I don't think that last photo is from the same sequence, but I my lens catches him in the same. positions. every. time. so I use them interchangeably. (do I need a faster shutter speed?)

More catching.

Breaking the stick down to a more manageable size.

A few more...

He decided to tackle a bigger stick

I stood on it for a greater challenge for him. Yes that’s a portrait photo lol

He wins!

For some reason, just before we went inside, he decided to break up the ice and grab a piece, go figure. (I know the water is dirty; my dad kept it there for catching rainwater to water his beans in the summer, that's not Roman's drinking water)

The End! Thanks for looking. Any comments on him or his structure are welcome, as is photography advice :)

He is a stunning GSD! Most I see are huge and fluffy, with hips that sink to the ground every step :(

But Roman is stunning! And I love his name :D

LOve the action. Looks like Romey has a lot of personality too. The ice just cracked me up.

Aww thanks guys!

His mum was bred by the Slovakian police, and was used in the Czech border patrol kennel for a litter before being imported. His dad is mostly Czech with a little bit of West German blood IIRC. His paternal grandfather was a busy police dog/ narcotics dog (with a bunch of titles as well) in New Mexico till he was 11 years old. I actually bought him because of his paternal grandfather; if I was doing it over again I probably wouldn't buy a dog because of his grandfather lol but this worked out well anyways.

I like the way he looks, too. At some angles he looks kind of funny because he has a huge thick neck and a narrow torso, but hey, he's not being shown or bred. His chest is definitely narrow and his back is a little weird, but I don't think either of these things impede his movement or will cause him to deteriorate unduly. He's 27" at the shoulder and pushing 100 lbs, which is probably a bigger concern, but with a couple exceptions, the dogs in his pedigree range from excellent to good in OFA terms. There are two dogs that are missing information (Slovakian bitches), and one "normal," which I'd guess is an OFA "fair."

It's funny you should mention that terrible gait, oakash, because I recently saw one of those in Seattle and the difference is pretty astounding. That unfortunate creature was sagging and wobbling his way along at a walk, and he was just a pup. Roman springs along vigorously... his conformation is far from perfect but he functions nicely. I can't imagine that pup ever doing what Roman does.

He's lots of fun and easy to live with (if you're consistent with him and don't let him get away with things, hint hint family). I would love to know what was going through his head when he decided to break the ice and grab a piece lol, he doesn't exactly look stoked about it does he?
