I know, I know... I'm sure a lot of you are thinking, "make up your mind!"

Sorry for leading everyone on with all these confusing threads. I actually emailed Charlie's foster mom today and told her the situation...

So here's what happened:

As you all know, I've been feeling really bad and depressed-- so I wanted to call and see how Rocky's doing.

My dad calls and I listen in with him. And I hear about how Rocky was depressed and crying for 2 days and wouldn't eat. But today, he ate and he's starting to get a little comfy.

My dad actually started tearing up over the phone. I think this hit him as hard as it did me. And the breeder, as nice as he is :), said that he would work with him and his problems and when everything is worked out (the breeder said 1-2 weeks)-- I can have him back!

Boy, I'm so happy right now. My baby, the dog that I've raised since he was just like-- ankle high, is coming back to me! The dog that I housetrained and obedience trained myself! My very first dog!

I now feel that his problems are my problems, and I will work with him to fix them and with Theo, the breeder, helping; I think things will be OK.

Thanks for everyones sympathies and concerns! :)

Well,
I actually think my heart skipped a beat when I saw this thread! I am happy for you and Rocky. I hope that all his problems are worked out and I hope you, him, and your dad live happily ever after.

That's awesome! I really am happy for you! It's not everyone and everydog that gets a second chance to work things out like this.

So does this mean Charlie still needs a new home? Not to be a downer or anything, I know Rocky comes first and foremost in your heart.

Yeah, I'm afraid so. I emailed the foster mom and told her I was very sorry, and I wished her luck in finding Charlie a new home.

You're right, Rocky's my baby, he comes first and foremost... thanks for the good wishes everybody! :)

That's terrific!! I'm so happy for you!! I know how it feels to lose your baby...I was crying last night, thinking about how much I'm going to miss Bear. I know it's the best thing, but still...it's hard.

I'm glad you're getting your baby back! Give him a hug from me when you see him!

I missed a lot on this whole situation; from what I heard, it sounds like Rocky has food aggression? There is a terrific book called Mine!, and it's all about resource guarding. You might want to check it out; it's got lots of good points :) .

Great! I'm so happy for you! Also, Rocky's situation is a great example on how important a good breeder can be.
