You guys might remember from this thread, when I got a new horse Rocky, but anyways I decided that it's time for an update.

Rocky is doing awesome, he's now to the point where he is sound to ride around cars, kids, etc. without worrying (mostly on my part), and we went on our first group trail ride into the mountains a few weeks ago. I'm still not sure if I am going to do barrels with him yet, I may try in the spring a bit.

I haven't been able to take pics in forever because my stupid camera broke, but I just got a new one and I was at my grandparents yesterday for Christmas so I took a few quick ones.

Oh, I almost forgot, we have 2 new additions....anyways on to Rocky and Honey (the mule) pics (and yes, I am trying to kill you with suspense, lol)

Pics will start in the next post, I forgot to load them to photobucket, lol.

Okay here we go, lol.

Honey absolutely refusing to walk over to me (It's a mule thing, lol)

Notice the change in atitude after I went and got treats

Rocky looking pretty darn dirty (I still don't know why they insist on rolling in the dirt as soon as they are let out).

"Wait! You can't give Honey all the treats! I'm coming!"

"...okay, I'm here...food, now!...please...."
(that big brown blob is a figment of your imagination)

"Look how studly I am, how could you not give me treats?"

What round ponies!

LOL I think it's an unwritten rule that if you have some white, you must always roll. Or lay directly in your poop. The way Rex looks, you would think his stall never gets cleaned out, but short of standing behind him with a pitchfork 24/7, I don't think I can keep him clean this winter. :(

Okay, all the other pics have the new guys in them, so here they are:

Meet Sugar!

She looks almost exactly like Rocky, except she is smaller and much finer boned. She is a 7 year old spotted saddle horse, and she is so sweet. She and Rocky are inseperable, they follow each other everywhere and insist on being stabled side by side.

Sugar trying to eat my camera:

"He's my boyfriend so you better just back off!"

And last but certainly not least....

Ginger (anybody else seeing a pattern here?)

She is a 17 year old Tennessee Walking Horse. For her age she is still quite lively, and keeps up with the others perfectly fine. Got her at an auction (really should not be allowed in those things, lol) and didn't want her to go for meat so I had to take her home. She reminds me a lot of Dusty, the horse that I lost a few years ago, and she was in the same position that he was, so I think that played a big part in it. I don't think that any more riding is in her future (other than perhaps short pony rides for my sister), but I'd love to try and do some clicker training with her.

Rocky playing protective boyfriend

Rocky, Sugar, and Ginger conversing about how they are going to get the treats from me

"Hey! She rides me, not you! Which means I get more treats than you!"

1 more post coming...

 I know. Honey does need to lose weight, but the kids around always love to feed him treats, and its the only way they can get him to come over to them.

Rocky isn't so much fat as he is stocky. He's a quarter horse so he's got some beef on him, lol, the pic of him walking downhill does him no justice. Plus the winter coat doen't slim them any.

Awww, they all look great. But, 17, old? Ginger is still in her prime! I didn't even start riding Boston until he was 21; last I knew, he was still going at 33!

And I want your mule;) .
