Riot attended his second Sanction Match. I had a friend handle him for me to see if he'd do any different without mommy there and "watching him" i was hiding behind a wall with my camera stuck out around the corner to get some video of him with her lol

I didn't think I'd be able to show him today, I originally just brought him to socialize a bit. She had brought her Gronendael to show. hes adorable! A little 6 month old named Rev.

I didn't think I'd show him because he's gotten into that "testing" stage and he gets aggresive with new people, like nipping when they go to touch him or shy away from them.

So, she worked with me a bit and Riot before the show, then offered to put him into the class for me.

I was thrilled :) He was doing super with her! :) Much much better!
We figured out his only weak point now is keeping his feet planted when it came to inspection when they run their hands down his back.

So there is hope :)

Anyways, I have pics and Video, I"ll post later, I'm at the Shelties house right now still.

From the show Riot brought home, best of his class(age group 6-9 months) and he brought home Reserve of Breed.

The judge REALLY liked him though and wanted to place him higher, but he wouldn't stand completely still for inspection.. lol

oh well, next show :)

Here are Riots pictures from today, the videos are still being uploaded as I type

Riot sitting good, not knowing he'll be turned over to another handler! hehe

Riot - "Crap.. I dont know her, when I get home mommy is GETTING IT!"

Riot - "ohhh ok, your not soo bad"

Riot waiting with his "handler" to go into the ring. The Gronendael infront of Riot is Rev, Janice(handler's) dog, hes SUCH a cutie!! Personality plus!

lol thats NOTHING compared to what he used to be like.

its in the breed to be shy or aggressive, it can get conditioned/trained out of them though, which Riot is in the process of doing.

He did EXTREMELY well with a new handler(only met her one other time), new setting and lots of noise.

Thats a big accomplishment for him and I'm so proud. he can only do better from here on. :)

Edited; did you fully read my very first post at all? Just wondering.. it also explains it in there.

Riot is just so handsome!!!! i can so relate to having a different handler for your dog. My dog Charlie was just growing up when i wanted him to be run in the amateur Hunter's stake. I couldn't run my own dog even just for the experience because of a club rule that said if you had placed first twice, you were no longer an amateur and not allowed to compete in an amateur stake. I wanted Charlie to run so i had someone else take him there. He picked up his "bird" and came sailing back, by passing the handler and began searching the crowd for me. I just cringed for we were in deep trouble. It was hot and he was holding everything up. After that i had a handler work him for a few days before we entered. I think it is a great experience for them to learn that someone else can lead and that they are expected to behave as well for other people as they are for you.
