Thumbs up? No byb deserves a thumbs up, in my opinion.

The sad thing is they will find some idiot who will pay that price for a "rare" dog and it is sad unfortunately to many people don't put any research into buying a dog and the majority of purchases for a dog (or any animal) is sight on seen and not thought out I feel sorry for the dogs

I didnt see anything rare about the 2nd yorkie. Not that I know much about them, but I've seen yorkies that look like that.

Too small tho

Da**. All the responsible breeders are sure missing the boat, aren't they? If one can get thousands of dollars for the products of indiscriminate breeding, what are we wasting our time breeding to the standard and screening for health problems for? (sarcasm)

*gag*

Maybe I should have been breeding merle to merle back in the day, and selling the occassional pup with no eyes as "rare" for thousands of dollars! I could have been RICH!

Why? It seems to me like a pair of regular everyday yorkies...I don't see anything that says byb or anything like that. If she can find some poofer with that kind of money to blow on a dog, let her get her cash.

Heh.

"Rare" breeds ... generally seem to have more health problems - esp with prices like that.
Most likely because they've been interbred so many times.

Those are some pretty sick prices. Reminds me when I go into Petland and see all those poor crossbreed puppies for $1200. It's so sad.

CHOCOLATE YORKIE
Actually, the "Chocolate Yorkie" is an overload of red gold and is a mutation of our breed and should not be bred as it is a complete loss of pigment. Notice that the nose is liver colored and that there are no black eye rims on this puppy.
Those that advertise this color as RARE are being dishonest in that they are just trying to enrich themselves with more money, in spite of the lack of pigment in the dogs they produce which could bring a genetic nightmare to the breed. Don't be taken in by this false advertising.

Yeah, lack of pigment is bad. Here are a few of the problems associated with it:

1. Congenital cataracts.

2. Persistent pupillary membrane.

3. Tapetal hypoplasia.

4. Convergent stabismus.

5. Enopthalmia

6. Micropthalmia.

7. Medial canthal syndrome.

8. Heterochromia iridis/hypochromia iridis.

9. Colomboma(ta).

10.Deafness

11. Demodicosis.

12. Skin cancer.

13. Follicular dysplasia.

14. Photo-induced epilepsy.

15. Sterility & reduced fertility.

16. Multiple congenital defects. (multiple organ defects are associated)

17. Social instability & inadequacy. (due to sensory integration issues)

That so called "green eyed pup" is likely the victim of cataracts :(

Having color isn't the same as having a lot of pigment. Self color in many breeds is a very dangerous "no no" Yorkie being one of them.
