Can't believe these guys are going home soon. The stud owner will be out later today and two puppies go to their homes. They are 9 weeks old tomorrow. The rest wait until 10 weeks old (or older).

These photos were taken on Wednesday - conformation shots of the lot of them. It was VERY hot, so many have their mouths open, but otherwise they were pretty good. Not terribly co-operative sometimes, but good.

First the boys:

Black Puppy

Blue Puppy

Brown Puppy

Green Puppy

Orange Puppy

Now the girls :)

Purple Puppy

Red Puppy

I've not decided which girl I want to keep yet. Both have their pros and cons. Barbara Daley (the stud owner) is coming out today to select her puppy, and I hope that she can help me decide which is more likely to grow into what I want.

Interestingly the puppies now all weigh 20lb or more, and have surpassed the same-age weights of Renee's first litter! They are doing fantastic. The vet visit went well with no major concerns on anyone.

I still have two puppies who are not spoken for (one girl and one boy), so I will need to keep trying to find them homes. I'm just amazed at how nicely the lot of them have turned out after everything we've been through.

And for your enjoyment - the PuppyMobile :rofl1: The easiest way to transport 7 wiggly puppies from the barn to the yard. They have nearly outgrown it, and will begin some basic leash training shortly. But in the meantime this has worked quite well and the puppies love it.

So I thought the wheaten one was my favorite until I saw the dark dark DARK brindle girl. She's stunning! Also can't get over the fact that they weigh over 20 lbs... LOL

Adorable! :)

My boss has three (!) Wolfhound pups. All around the same age. My jealousy is high

:) They really are cute, though it is a real challenge to walk through the yard with them there. They like to swarm people, getting totally underfoot. And pant legs (and ankles) are of course fair game. Of course they eat a ton too, 3 feedings of 6-8 cups of food... I definitely won't mind having a few less mouths to feed soon.

So the stud owner was out today and decided to take Orange puppy with her for her clients in New Brunswick. Amazing how far these puppies travel! This litter I will have one in Alberta, one in New Brunswick, and one in Quebec (plus Ontario of course). Last litter had one go to PEI and one went across the ocean to Poland!

Orange in the back of the breeder's car, ready to go.

She nearly took Brown instead, but unfortunately one of his knackers is "hiding" at the moment. Hopefully it will come down on its own, but no point taking chances. She quite liked Black, who is a tad smaller (not much) and quite pretty. Green was clearly a favorite (no surprise), but he was spoken for. In fact, I managed to settle differences with JuliaMae (who is much more sensible in person than online thank goodness), and agreed to let her buy Green after all. She will be a very good owner for him and will treat him better than most treat their kids. The stud owner thought Blue was quite pretty, and his colour of course makes him striking compared to the brindle litter.

JuliaMae with Green seat-belted into the seat beside her, ready to start her long drive back to Alberta.

Girls wise Red has a bit of an occlusion in her teeth (the vet noticed) so the stud owner took a closer look. While her bite is correct it seems her lower jaw is a bit narrow compared to her upper jaw. Very minor, but if she doesn't grow out of it, she will not be conformation show quality (or breeding quality - were I ever to be stupid/brave enough to so this again). Purple on the other hand is very nice and has no evident faults to worry about at this point.

Of course for them all only time will tell how they develop. There's only so much you can see at this age.

The next puppy to leave will be either Brown or Black, depending on what the buyer decides when she comes out next weekend. Then Blue will go home in another week or so as his owner has decided to let him hang out with his litter a touch longer.

Either Black or Brown (whoever is left) will remain for sale, as will Red. At least I now know who I'm looking for homes for. Purple gets to stay :) Of course the others will stay as long as necessary to find the right homes - it's not as though I'm kicking them out or anything.
