removing ear glue/tape

I have YET to meet a Sheltie with perfect ear set from puppyhood..

its in the breed standard to have tipped ears.. and unless they change the standard this is HOW it will be. Some puppies dont need to have their ears glued for long either, our male Crosbie only had to have his glued until he was approx. 6 months old - he has perfect ear set.

Jada is still getting hers glued to help them set a little better.

People who dont show - will never understand.

I actually had someone ask me if I had glued Sawyer's ears when he was a puppy, because I guess he's got the perfect ear carriage for the breed. I have no idea if it's hereditary or someone did it as a puppy, but by the time I got him, his ears looked like they do now.

In the grand scheme of "cosmetic alterations" gluing is about as harmless as it gets.

This stuff should work great. We use it at the hospital all the time to get the tegoderm and tape off iv sites etc... Works like a charm everytime.. but it does smell awful and leaves a residue on your skin.

I guess I just can't get into this "perfect" dog show stuff. I don't like Miss America contests either, and dog shows remind of that, except the dogs have more "talent".........

with shelties ears... its not that it has to be perfect! its just that they are SUPPOSE to have tipped ears.
i dont get into miss america, but i love dogs shows. i guess thats because i am around show dogs and the hobby so much i just get sucked in

To the OP - I also used Uni-Solve on the dobe puppies... seemed to work very well and didn't irritate the skin.
