I have to wait for the rebroadcast tomorrow, as snow was on my satellite and it didn't record. And on that subject, since when does it snow in Arizona:confused:

I did watch the Chow breed competition online as Aesop's breeder was showing. Didn't win, but that's ok:p

I watched every minute; although I have zero interest in conformation shows the rest of the year, I've been watching Westminster since I was about 8 (I used to tape it and watch it over and over again) so I can't stand missing it.

My favorite dog of the night was the Ridgeback. I love the breed in general, but don't always "notice" them in conformation shows. Something about that one really struck me though.

Is it just me, or did the chow come very close to biting the handler? He was holding the muzzle when the judge had his hands on the dog, and when the handler released, the dog head-whipped right at him.

The Deerhound is my favorite of the group winners so far, I think.

There are very specific rules about conflict of interest. IMO, the handlers should have known this. I believe one of them actually took over the judge's kennel awhile back.

The judges are brought in to look at the exhibitors, not the other way around.
Both handlers realized the conflict of interest, and Peter also knew they were going to be in his ring. However, until Breed judging was over, no one knew actually who would win.

The prestige and weight of a breed win at WKC over rides being able to compete in the group. Both handlers knew very well they would not be competing. Also, not many judges would recuse themselves from a WKC assignment! It is a great honor!

So the handlers came in the ring, got their tv shot, and then were excused. Everyone knew what was going on.

Going to agree with Red on this. I thought it was handled quite well by all parties and explained well.

I thought the commentary in general was better than I can ever remember. David Frei did a a fine job when talking about responsible breeding.

Love that Scottie bitch and her size. I really, really like the Bedlington bitch and was rooting for her.

The Puli mis-start on the final go around was interesting. In my mind, I thought that he was only looking for 2-4 at that point.

Wow upset in the pap breed ring. Well, the BOB winner is a big winner in his own rights but Kid has been on a roll for a few years.

BEST. WESTMINSTER. EVER!

I maybe on an old dog kick right now... but seeing a 10 year old dog win Westminster brought tears to my eyes. The judge was right, tonight DID belong to the Sussex. :)

lol if by it you mean wanting to sleep. LOL...poor old man looked like he was about tired of this ring stuff...so hope he sleeps well and long tonight and dreams of large women!

I wasn't nearly as impressed this year compare to last at the ganas on display in the ring...onyl the Griffon seemed to be on to me...but as far as conformation of course all are super nice dogs...

There won't be another Uno anytime soon I just need to accept that hehe.

It was a very good Westminster...a strong BIS. I didn't care for the Deerhound, but that is just me and while people are nuts for the Brussels, I have my own opinion there too.

My heart was with the Sussex...while my eye was for the Scottie bitch. What a nice win for handler and dog, Stumpy. The GS was also quite amazing in a stack, but movement wise...the other two topped that.

I know people are sick of Poodles, but that Std. is an exceptional mover. People just tire of them, but I feel that it's not the fluff but the dedicated, long time breeding of exceptional animals that keeps them in top contention.

The Puli looked fabulous but for me, over sized just a bit.

I am quite happy with the outcome...a great show it was!
