Anybody here who experienced regression in potty training would be kind enough to share how they managed to rectify the situation?

Yoshi usually goes outside, but lately, instead of coming to us and yapping so we take him out, he simply hides and poops next to the door or in the washrooms. :yikes:

What should I do?

Squid has been doing this too..

I've just been training like I always have.. and giving LOTS of treats when he whines to me.. I'm just hoping this will pass very quickly.. :)

This often happens, now that summer's over and the weathers changing. Much more comfortable to put their rearend on warm carpet/flooring than the cold damp ground outside. Just have to start from square one and continue training. good luck!

I have had similar issues with Charlie as well, but it only happens when we are home.

What I have found out is, he does not like to bark, shih tzus like to snort to tell you that they want someonething. I would keep and eye out for this type of sign or other signs. Sometimes as dogs get older they change there approach. Charlie used to bark to go out as well, but no longer does.

I have the same problem with Rocky. I just "pooped" in his crate this morning. I have to clean the crate and him before I go to work. I guess we have to be calm and keep training him.

Adding to the fact I "train" him not to bark for no reason, he usually whines or sneezes instead of barking, which is a good thing! But it makes it difficult to notice whether he just wants to play or he has to go. Plus, he just sneaks upstairs sometimes and goes in the bathroom, then climbs back down. If I hear him climb up, I can prevent the accident, but often times, I only hear him climbing back down... and I know I failed him then :(

*cry*

hehe
