... I've decided to get Izzie her CKC number. One of our instructors for agility thinks Izzie and i have a real future at competition obedience if we choose to go for it, the only thing she needs in her CKC number. She's purebred, we have a system that is like the AKC PAL number. It's complicated and such, but i'm willing to do it.

However... I've never even talked to Izzie's breeder, and i've always been tempted to call. So tonight i'm going to call, this will be the first time i've contacted her in the 2.5 years i've had izzie. I'm calling in case there's the off chance that her parents are registered and the people that got izzie as a pup originally declined the papers. Plus if i was a breeder, i would want to hear how my pups were doing and if they were rehomed. I'm pretty sure the breeder doesn't know that izzie was rehomed to me.

So i need two things from you all...

1) Start thinking up fancy names (including a kennel name) for Izzie.

2) Send me good luck vibes for this call tonight! I'm so nervous!

Good luck for the call to the breeder!

(If you want us to start thinking of registerable names that include the kennel, we need to know what the kennel is!)

I don't know the kennel! I'm not sure if her breeder registers her dogs and has a kennel prefix... So if you wanna make one up then you can lol.

Good luck.

If you make up your own kennel name, ask someone with a CKC membership (mine's in the process) and have them look it up to make sure that its not allready taken.

Just got off the phone with the breeder... and the verdict is....

Her parents aren't registered (well her dad is but her mum isn't).

So it's the harder way for us! No worries though, she can still get her number and i can name her whatever i want.

She also didn't know the dog had been rehomed, let alone so young. She'd even called the former owners and they kept telling her the pup was doing great. She's very hurt to know those people did that to her, but glad to know i'm taking good care of her. I'm emailing some pictures right now.

Personally. Don't make up a kennel name. It looks pretentious and it's meaningless. Its something people who don't know how kennel names really work do.

Kaiden has no kennel name. The JRTCC won't let you make one up, but even if they did that is ok. If you plan to breed down the road and know what you want your kennel name to be you can have your dog 'of YOUR KENNEL NAME' ie Kaiden is Kaiden of GreyRun.
