So, anyone that feeds raw (all, snack, once-in-a-while, ect).

How long does it take your dog to finish his/her food?

Lizzie can finish a Chicken Leg in about 15/20 mins and a Turkey Wing in 10mins. Major on the other hand takes atleast 45 mins to finish a CL.

I give raw frozen chicken leg quarters on occassion. Sawyer will take his time and make it last about 15-20 minutes, while Virgo gets hers down in between 5-10 minutes. Times are approx. because I've never paid much attention to the clock when they're eating. But I know that Virgo sees it as a personal challenge to see how quick she can eat while still chewing. It's half the reason she gets her frozen, it makes her slow down a bit. If it was fresh, I think it would be gone in about 2 minutes.

About 30 seconds to a minute a meal? Haha, I think the longest he's ever taken is about 7 minutes but that's because it was a whole duck (he didn't eat the whole thing of course) and it was still mostly frozen.

Pearl is on raw food and raw bones. All my guys get raw bones.

I feed her food that my aunt makes up, and its in a 8 oz pattie. I feed her 2 patties, twice a day, and its usually gone in 5 seconds LOL

For all my guys on the raw bones from the butcher, they last about a day, if that long.

With my 3 it depends on what they are having. Typically Bruzer is finished his meal in about 30 seconds because I chop his bones up (after our CPR issue a while back, he rarely gets a whole bone). If the meal for Gunnar and Daisy is something like leg quarters and a muscle meat, she will finish in about 3-4 minutes, and he takes his time, 10 minutes or so. Last night they all got venison. She got a shoulder that was about 3.5lbs, he got a rack of ribs that was about 2.5lbs. They took at least 30 mins to finish those.

Knuckle bones last a few hours to get cleaned out. Raw meaty bones (chicken parts...) about a minute. :p

Meals don't last long around here. If it is muscle meat, boneless, it is gone in seconds. Leg quarters or neck bones can take 5-10 minutes. A healthy dog with a proper appetite usually attacks and eats food quickly when it is presented.

Depends on what's on the menu. Muscle meat takes usually under a minute, if it's something like a chicken quarter it'll take Frodo about 5-6 minutes and Izzy longer. Something like ribs or a whole head that they have to really work on can take up to an hour or more.

Sierra downs a chicken back in a few minutes (3-5). That's pretty typical.

Ground food is pretty much inhaled.

Recreational bones are just that, and can last for days!

Eve downs a chicken leg quarter in about 5 minutes. Dakota eats the same thing in half the time. Things like beef/pork ribs and necks take longer. Eve will work on ribs for an hour or so. Muscle meat is gone as quickly as they can swallow it.
