My dog ate a raw chicken breast off of our counter on Friday at 6:15 or so. We had it thawing too close to the edge. His diet usually just consists of dog food and an occasional chip or fry from our plate. He has never had anything raw. I'm know some people feed their dogs raw food a lot, so at this point I'm not too concerned, but I just wanted to get some opinions. It's been a day and a half and there are no changes in his behavior. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

It's most likely perfectly fine. I feed my dogs raw chicken legs when I buy them on sale or bits of raw steak or other meats when cooking. Dogs can handle raw meat and like you said, many people feed raw diets. Even though I feed mainly kibble, my dogs have never had a problem when they get raw

Dogs were fed raw food in the wild... just avoid cooked chicken bones, they are too sharp.

I agree with the others.

One thing I would suggest is thawing out meat in the fridge or microwave. Otherwise you could give yourself food poisoning. A little something I learned getting my food handlers permit. ;)

i wouldn't worry about it, my dog's favorite food is roadkill deer w/ the hide still on. i've fed this way for years no behavior issues at all. in fact, my dog gets fat when put on kibble (like right now while i'm in Iraq) because of the high carb diet. it's only a couple of pounds so i'll get that off him quick when i get back.
