High School wasn't good for me. I went to a Catholic high school that had a lot of spoiled brats. I was a very shy and socially awkward. I sat at lunch with kids that wasn't considered cool. I was the type that made friends with anyone who wanted to be my friend. I wasn't into status. I took a lot of grief from the bratty kids who looked down at me and my friends. I remember my senior trip to Montreal when the chaperones called out room assigments while we were in the lobby. I was assigned a room with one of the football players. The football player put up a big stink and didn't want me in his room at all. I felt humiliated. Even to this day(I'm 53), I still feel kind of inadequate and my self image isn't too great.

So on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the worst experience, I would give my high school experience a 2.

I actually had fun in high school. I am still friends with the people I was friends with then. (Well, almost all the people). My school wasn't real clique-oriented or anything. Nobody really cared what anyone else thought. We were just us! :)
I would give my experience an 8.

Ah, high school itself wasn't too bad. I had friends from every subculture - from the militant black clique to the radical geniuses, the "normal" kids, the eccentric art/drama group and even dated one of the starting football players AND the son of the editor of the big regional newspaper; scored a seat on the junior city council there in Wilmington and found out I'd come close to getting elected to homecoming court ( :yikes: ) by the disaffected, the radicals, the eccentrics, the gays and general rowdy school population - now that was just too damned scary for someone as shy as I was, lol, good thing the heads were too stoned to vote . . . About the only people I didn't have any dealings with were the cheerleaders and the socially elite. I didn't really know any of the kids in the vocational courses because our paths never crossed (my mom put the kiebosh on me taking auto mechanics  )

My mother, however, made those years complete and utter HELL for me . . . I couldn't wait to get it over with. She was determined to make a freak out of me and she did a really good job of it. I already had a headstart on freakdom since I'd just turned 14 before my sophomore year - not to mention I was already taller than everyone but some of the senior guys and a few of the juniors . . .

I guess mine was about a 5 - horrible from the home front; pretty decent from the school side.

I was a 100% certifiable DORK. I was a 4 year JROTC nerd. Frankly, we lived in a relativley affluent and urban area of Florida (Jupiter) and I was just too much a redneck to fit in, thank God.

But in a way I am grateful for the experience. I learned a lot about who I DID NOT want to be when I grew up and that was like the majority of my Barbie/Ken classmates.

Only had to fight twice as well. The first time I opened my mouth at the wrong time and got my ass kicked. The second time the punk sucker punched me in the locker room before gym. But I ended up getting position on him and smashed his face into a locker, causing 18 stitches of damage. Well worth the 5 day suspension for the "peace" it brought me the rest of the years. :)

Uh...LOVED school! I wish I could do it all over again. I had great teachers... tons of friends who I dearly miss... and learned a lot.

My favorite years were 11-13... probably because of the Tequila and Nachos nights every Wednesday. :)

It was very up and down for me. I had my small core group of friends who had been together since 7th grade and a few scattered kids here and there. But I never fit in with the popular crowd by any means...it dawned on me the other day that I never had a clue about the whole high school drinking parties because I was never invited to one. Not that I would have gone anyway, but I was so far from included in those groups...

I give mine about a 4. I had some good times, but mostly I just couldn't wait to get out of Rich Suburbia Hell of the Future...I was smart, energetic and rather talkative (wow, I'm a lot like my Aussies, lol) and that didn't make me fit in too well. Even the drama crowd managed to shunt me to off-center pretty efficently. Thank you, high school dating politics.

Lets see, which high school expereince would yuo like me to tell about? lol

I was literally teased so much in high school, I dropped out half way thru my 10th grade year. The name calling, the horrible things said about me ( I was the overweight kid, hello, easy target) and it just got to be too much. Not to mention the people who I had gone thru elementary and middle school and treated me "ok" now totally ignored me. It was a school filled with high class snobs, a school full of valley girls and football players. I would literally either stay in the bathroom or be in the library my entire lunch period.

So after that, I went to a school that basically lets you do your reg. 18 week classes in 9 weeks. It was a school that you had to get accepted in, and only about 300 students in the whole school. Was basically "outcast central" and I had the time of my life lol I was even voted on thier student council 2 years in a row, did many plays, and was even answering phones during my lunch break in the office.

So first HS, 1, second highschool 10.

I loved my high school experience. No, I was not one of the popular kids. I was in the band and a member of the math and science team....'nuff said. But I had a good group of friends, and we were all close. It's been more than 10 years, and we're still good friends. We've actually become even closer over time, even though we've all started out own families and living our own adult lives. I don't know of too many people who can say that.

We were never invited to those drinking parties or anything either, but we still enjoyed just going out to movies, hanging out, etc.

I didn't really get teased, although it happened once or twice. It was one of those kids who wasn't popular, but wasn't so nerdy that everyone made fun of me. Classes and teachers were good, but of course I had a few bad ones.

I'd give my high school experience a 9. I wouldn't change a thing.

Hated it, couldn't get out of there fast enough so i left when i was 16. I had enough credits so they let me go to jr college and come back and pick up my diploma when it was time. I lucked out.

Meh I could do with or without it. It was nothing to write home about. I had lots of friends (I wasn't in the cool crowd I just had friends in every group) almost NONE of which I speak to to this day. I think I talk to ONE person from highschool and then I found a few on facebook that I have been in minimal contact with lol.

I eventually dropped out of regular highschool when I was halfway through grade 11 and started doing my schooling from home and at night classes. My grades went WAAAAAAAAAAAY up AND I could work full time and make money. Kinda wish I had done the schooling on my own from the start of highschool. I was always the more "independant learner" type lol.

The only thing I loved in highschool was wrestling.... but then I joined an outside wrestling club anyway.... until I took out my knee that is.

I had quite a variety of experiences in high school--ultimately I would say it was an 8-9. My high school graduating class was 500+ I had a good group of friends--some artsy, some musical, some jocks, some brains, etc. I really enjoyed my art/music classes..and biology course.

I went to two different highschools, and had decent experiences at each. I had a lot of fun with my friends (although some of us had some horrible falling outs with each other). I guess I'd rate it between 7-8.

Hmmmmmmmmmm ...... my small school in Quebec had around 100 students grades 1 through 12 . There were 5 in my class at graduation ....I was Valedictorian if that tells you anything !! Woo-Hoo ! We did have a basketball team and went to finals for the Provence one year in Montreal . There was no social life or clubs ...... just study . I loved weekends when after my piano lessons Sat. morning , and Sunday school/Church I could ride , ski , bike and just enjoy myself . Being a " Student " meant a lot back then . We had June provincial exams and I passed , so I guess it wasn't a " bad " highschool . From there to College was a huge step for me !!! So I can't " rate " ..... some classes I liked , some I didn't . We had no choice of classes . Everyone took English lit , English written , French , Latin , Geography , Biology , Geometry , Physics, History and Algebra . Each class was 1/2 hour . Started at 9 am .... home for dinner at 11:45 and back at 1 PM until 4 PM. I loved Fridays ---- we got out at 3 PM. !!!!!

I would rate it 2 as well, on good days. School taught me that no matter what well adjusted people think, being able and unafraid to fight is a blessing. It taught me that we use the term friend too loosely. In my case I was too caught up in social problems to gain from the information being put out. I would have been better off working labor jobs until I had the maturity to learn and the temperament to fight rather than be bullied or worry about being bullied.

Hmm well I'm in high school now and I love it. :) My school isn't very cliquey though, I know I would hate it if it was. I'm not popular by any means but I have friends in every "group" just about. Basically, you're only disliked if you're a jerk. So it's pretty easy to make friends, which makes it a lot more enjoyable.

I could do without all the homework though. lol.

Sooo...based on my experience so far, I'd give it an 8 or 9.

Well, I graduated with a 4.0, but did get into a little bit of trouble here and there. Had lots of friends, and was o nly su spended twice. Considering the crap I pulled, I got off easy . Class clown. Plus, I did set off fireworks during one school assembly. It was awesome. I score a ten.

I'm still in high school, and not very far in either. In Australia highschool is 7-12 and most year 7s are 12-13. I'm only in year 8 now so I guess I can only give my opinion on these 2 years. I was in a group last year which was close to popular but just a notch down. There was a lot of girls and only 1 guy. It was very bitchy and a petty argument would break out almost every day. I thought they were great friends but now when I look back on it I spent so much time crying and being upset over those girls. So this year I changed groups. This group is basically half guys and half girls, which definately balances out the tantrums and fights. It isn't as hierarchical as the other group, which basically had one leader and whatever she said went. We aren't popular by any means but wouldn't be considered the nerds either. It has been so much fun this year and I wouldn't change it for the world! Class is ok and most of the teachers are good. So I guess if you're with the right crowd then high school is great. I would rate it 8
