OKAY, so when I was taking Harley into the vets I had the vet look over Dakota-Lakin and as it turns out, he is NOT 100% Kuvasz. He has a tiny tiny tiny 0.01% lab in him. Oh well. He is 99.9% Kuvasz. They goy it from a blood test.

how could they tell he had that little bit of lab in him? That's wierd. Oh well, you weren't going to show or breed him were you, since you didn't have his papers or anything. He'll still make a good pet for you or somebody if you rehome him.

Sorry, there is no such test. Your vet is lying to you plain and simple. There are DNA tests, but to able to preform them you need DNA from both parents. Plus, vets don't usually do these tests. I would get another vet. I worked in a clinic for 5 years and can assure you that there is no breed test!!!!

it probably was not known that whoever had that .01 percent lab in them had it. Quite accidental though, probably an honest mistake.

No, I would like to though. Where can I see the picture?

On another note, there is a good chance that vet feels strongly that your dog has a small amount of lab in him/her, so he may of just made up that statement to try and convince you of his/her opinion. Rotten

do u have any pictures of ur new guy sirius.
That is odd, even for a vet to say..there had to be reasoning behind it, a vet wouldnt say something like that with it not being true for no reason, whats it to him to say that?

That is what I thought but it makes no sense to me a vet lying but it sure is not unheard of either!

If he said the blood test showed .1 % lab then he is not joking and I would be looking for a new vet fast!
