Does anyone have some nifty rainy day strategies? I'm talking about how to keep my house from becoming a mud pitt not activities for the dogs.

I am actually going to loose my mind soon. Its been raining non stop and as a result my house is covered in mud. looking for ideas more creative than keep towels by the door which just isn't enough!

I'm potty training the puppy so we HAVE to go out multiple times each day.

I'm actually considering doggy shoes and raincoats but I know its not realistic as I have little prep time to get the puppy out in time.

I'm spending hours each day cleaning not only puppy accidents but the mud slides. For a while I was plopping them in the tub to rinse their feet and legs every time we came in but... I have a life and this basically took my entire day!

And this is without mentioning THE SMELL. We will be moving to a new house so I am open to ideas for how to set up the yard before we move in since it does rain a LOt here.

I have two dogs and a backyard full of awful red mud. I've learned that linoleum and tile are your friends. :D

I have figured out one little trick, though. During the rain, I keep a big plastic pitcher of water full. Before they come in the house, I stop them on the concrete right in front of the door. Then I use the pitcher to rinse off paws before they come inside.
