how long does it take until puppies get full grown size? not compleltely full grown, but for instance, my Shih Tzu is 4 months old. when am i going to be able to how tall he's going to be when full grown? or at what age does a puppy stop growing, height wise?

I have felt that a girl dog has achieved her growth when she is old enough to produce puppies..it is just my theory but i think the body can not keep growing and produce at the same time..boy dogs grow up the first year and out the second. I think people kind of grow the same way. My son is still in that up mode, but will fill out as a man by the time he is 20. My Daughter stopped as i did by 14.

It actually can vary a great deal from breed to breed, and even from dog to dog. The small breeds do tend to get their full growth at an earlier age than the large breeds, so you should have a pretty good idea of your dog's approximate size by the time she's 10 months old. She'll still change a bit, but her overall size won't differ that much, especially her height.
