So, I think my cat is not normal. :lol-sign:
Tiki is about 5 1/2 years old. Had him ever since he was born. He can be an odd ball at times LOL But he's still a frisky, playful cat.
However, he will NOT eat canned food. I've tried many different kinds and he won't touch it. I've also tried giving him some tuna... he won't touch that either. I know it's better for cats to eat canned food with the added moisture and it doesn't contain the ash & magnesium that some dry foods carry. Have any of you experienced this with your kitties?
I'm also looking into getting him a different dry food. I feed him a very small scoop 2-3 times a day. He used to eat Kirkland Cat Food from Costco (no corn and by products) and did fine. Since I moved him up here with me, I decided to try Organix. He's been on it for about a month-month and a half now and about 3 weeks after I started to feed him this he has developed diarrhea. I've experienced this before when my mom and I put our cats on Blue Buffalo, they just didn't do well on it. I know some cats are like that where they just won't do well on certain foods.
Do you guys have any suggestions on foods that would be good? I noticed that Wal Mart carries a food called EVOLVE that has no corn, by products, soy etc. But I've never heard of it before and wondered if anyone else has. Since he won't eat canned food, I want to be sure I get a dry food that's not going to give him any urinary problems as I've already seemed to be experiencing that just recently. He was using the box... a lot... so I have started giving him cranberry supplement & almost done with some antibiotics.
If you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Where we're stationed, there are NO pet stores around here (well there's one but they sell puppies and I'm not much for those kinds of pet stores). It's about an hour drive just to get to PetSmart, PetCo, Pet Supermarket, etc. The commissary and PX actually carry a fairly decent range of foods but not a lot to choose from. But, I've found that the Organix isn't agreeing with him.
