Hi guys. I just "found" my religion about two months ago and have been studying it little by little ever since. I was baptized Lutheran but never was taken to church, nor was I raised religious. A couple months ago, I did something pretty bad and felt really crappy about it. It weighed on me until someone mentioned they had gone to confession and how good it felt, so I googled Lutheran churches in my area, found one, confessed, and felt so uplifted that I kept going back to learn about the Bible one on one with the pastor.

I was wondering if anyone here is religious and if so, if they could share things about it with me. I know it's a sensitive subject to some, but to those who feel ok sharing, please do!

well I don't know what kind of info you are looking for... but I also came upon my faith in adulthood.

I was baptised but we never went to church or anything to do with faith.

but I went through some pretty trying times a few years ago and I was in my darkest hour. it was then that I came into my faith. I know some times people don't understand but I just FELT it. I can't explain it. it was unlike anything I've ever felt before and when it happened there was just NO mistaking where it came from. I just knew in my heart and in my soul.

I am still relatively new in my journey and have a lot to learn and a lot of room to grow in my faith. I am not a perfect Christian and i never will be... but I try more and more each day.

but for me.. knowing that God is there for me ALWAYS really gives me strength and peace of mind. Some say I am weak for NEEDING it... but they just don't understand and that's OK

I think that if what you believe get though the day then more power to you. I have some pagen beliefs and some times lean towards atheism. That is me. My son has his god that helps him when he is feeling troubled. I have study many religions but found nothing that made me say YES that is what I think too. I try to live my life with out hurting any one or thing. I try to leave a light foot print on the earth. I try to make everyone I encounter feel happy. I guess that is all life is about. I have two brothers that are Jehova Witnesses. One sister practice's Native American religion and the other one is catholic.

I have always believed in my God but never knew him until a little over a year ago. I had felt him before (the Holy Spirit) in the past but I guess I wasn't ready. I was really immature and selfish about things I wanted I guess, things that weren't good for me any ways. I love to talk about my God since that is the center of my life now but I try to bite my tongue and keep quiet often because I don't want to be annoying but I love to share. I will share details of situations if no one minds later.

My hubby doesn't believe, he is agnostic. And this can be really hard sometimes with say something we need to make a decision on where one would have to have faith in my God to say yes or to say no to something. We see things differently. Its hard but we both listen and understand each other and so we grow as we change, been married awhile.

I would say we are all weak and we are all crappy and we all need to fill the space with something. I just feel beyond a doubt that the God I know is true and living.

I don't believe in denominations but I do believe in reading the Bible for yourself.

i wouldnt call myself religious...more spiritual...
but im also one of those "weird tree hugging hippy pagan freeks" as i was reacently called lol.

im eclectic pagan, to me its more about knowing theres something larger than me than the actual aspect of "god", an energy that binds everything and a balance that is the natural world.

confessional in any religion i think feels so good because its nice to have someone you can tell anything to, and not feel judged in return.

Having complete confidence and faith in whatever you choose to believe in is a wonderful, liberating feeling.
