Question about Pit Bulls

I dont think there is a "gamebred" pit owner on Chaz. Game pit owners would shudder over us that have mixes that arent "game", and even more so full bred pits or APBT's that actually tolerate any other dogs or show no game at all.
Yes depending on the lines, and breeding there are pits and APBTs that are great with other dogs, they just are not part of the official, accepted breed descriptions.
I doubt even Game Dogs would be very upfront on game bred dogs, as they dont "test" their dogs for "game". They do have alot of great info on the pit bull in general and the APBT specifically.

I'm not entirely sure this is correct, it's just a guess:
Show - Conformation in the show ring. Bred specifically to the breed standard, so as to do well.
Gamebred - To be "gamebred" is to have the strong will to never quit a task, an essential quality in many hunting/working dogs. It is determination and courage. However, in Pit Bulls, this would be the tenacity in the fight ring.
Performance - To be "performance bred" in any breed is to be bred to have the physical and mental characteristics needed in order to perform a specific task, such as sledding, weight pulling, police work, etc.
These different "breedings" could be in any breed, not just APBT.
Again, totally a guess, based on pieces of information I've gathered throughout the years. If anyone can lend a hand, or correct this, that'd be great.

The physical breed standard, the complete breed standard includes dog agressiveness.
A game bred dog would be one that would scratch first every time, that goes beyond a strong will or tenacity. It is all about the box.
A performance bred pit or APBT has all the drive of its fighting sibling but none of the dog aggressiveness.

In addition to what's been said; you'll often notice that gamebred APBTs are usually considerably smaller looking than show, and sometimes that applies to performance as well.
Small doesn't guarantee game but a game dog is usually seen as being on the smaller side of the standard, without the stacks of muscles (though not lacking any strength at all) and a much leaner look.

A perfect APBT should meet all the standards of looks, temperament and performance. It should, in my eyes anyways, excel at all of the standards to be worthy of breeding.
If you follow a dogs ped back far enough, you will find that all of the well bred APBT's are off of game stock parents at some point. Unless they're Am Staff's, which were separated from the game bred stock long ago.
