I know that weight bearing bones (femurs etc.) from cattle are too hard for doggie teeth. Is it the same with pigs? Or are their weight bearing bones OK?

I hope someone more knowledgable than myself replies.
However I give Murphie cattle femurs etc but have the butcher cut them into pieces so she can work out the marrow. She ends up chewing on the ends and giving her gums a good workout anyway, before she leaves them lying around on the lawn. I don't really consider those food per se, but more of a treat/toothbrush kind of thing. Not sure about pig bones, but I've seen some pretty big pigs, with bones that must bear a LOT of weight heh.
Good luck,

I am not sure about pig bones as i dont feed pork, but i feed beef marrow bones, you need to use meaty bones and then take them away when the meat has gone so they dont wear down the teeth

pigs are generally only about 6 months old when slaughtered and their bones are pretty soft.

when giving weight bearing bones of any larger animal (or older sheep), i'd take them away once the knuckle joints are chewed off. the bone hardens from the center outwards, so that is the dangerous part that can break teeth or splinter.
