Never count on anything. I achieved all my academic dreams and I work at the Starbucks. You never know what life will throw you, education or no.

Don't worry Dekka, I'm just feeling cranky lately. I have an unusual situation.

MIT SB in biology+ Northwestern MD+ NYU residency + difficult special needs child = Starbucks to get health insurance for 20 hrs/week opening (at 5:30 am!!!)

It's ok, 99% of the time I'm fine with it. I mean, my husband and children love me and are a source of pride to me. I have a roof over my head in a safe neighborhood with good schools. I have the coolest dogs ever...

What more is there, anyway?

Howdy Dr. Mom777!!! Allow me to extend kudos for what you've achieved academically, but even more so, doing such with a special needs child to attend to with loving care------I applaude you!!! Tis' true what you stated, "You never know what life will throw you, education or no," well, I've encountered many, many, many cases such as yours, yet, somehow, someway, they remained "focused" on their profession, and well, they ultimately embraced success!!! My ardous journey through med school, internship, residency, and ultimately my practice of Internal Medicine/ Trauma MD was quite emotionally traumatic, but I cowboyed-up and I'm confident that you, " DR MOM 777" are going to meet with success which you so deserve!!!

Howdy Buddy!!! Without hesitation, pursue your major!!!!! Though all my academic efforts were indeed "scientifically" oriented, your efforts to capture whatever degree you pursue is to be appplauded---it's an advanced degree and it's your future!!!

Well.. harumph.. what about the rest of us who aren't in sciences?*grumble*

I would like to add that I make one heck of a nice capuccino. And pumpkin spice latte. And venti halfcaf skim caramel macchiato with one and a half splendas, whip cream, extra caramel, and pumpkin spice sprinkles... well you get my drift.

Wow, you must lurk a lot more than post... unless you were just blindly reaching out for some words of comfort. Hmm. Either way, you're very good. I like you. You need to come around more. Getting a MA is certainly no piece of cheesecake. :p

You go Buddy. Don't listen to me, please. Anyway, education is worth it for its own sake. Except maybe medical school... but that's not actually education, and another story.

Howdy Baxter!!! "Please do tell"..... well I shall indeed, my comment concerning individuals who've experienced a "struggle" to achieve both a professional and personal success is, in indeed, a highllight in my life----I WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THEIR SUCCESS!!!

Really? What would make you jump to that statement? Please do tell...

and what would make you think I am unaware of this, and what is determined as a level of success?
