JUst recently we noticed that our 6-month-old GSD's lower lip is drooping. This is just on one side of his jaw for about 2 inches. Sometimes he drools from this spot. I know he didn't have this when we got him (at 8 weeks). Do you think his Gentle Leader nose harness has anything to do with this? It has been properly fitted by our obedience class trainer and I only put it on him when we go out for a walk. (BTW, he is not happy about it at all!)

Another recent problem: sometimes in the morning, about 20 minutes after we get up, he vomits foamy bright yellow stuff. He doesn't seem sick and even eats most of his breakfast later on. Do I need to worry about this?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what the droopy lip is, but I do know what the yellow foam is. It is bile, and is commonly caused by an empty stomach. I would increase the amount of feedings and make them closer together.

Actually the yellow, foamy vomit isn't nessecarily always from an empty stomach, but can be. In Bailey's case it's due to sinus drainage from his sinus passages, down the back of his throat, into his stomach, which causes upset, then he spits up. Dogs and people alike in the part of the country where I live have problems with allergies and horrid sinus attacks. Try feeding him a little later in the day and see if that takes care of it.

As for the Gentle Leader head collar.........I like the Gentle Leader HARNESS, unless your dog is a jumper then you don't need the annoying head collar. IF he is only a puller then the no pull harness is much better if you have to use a "device" like that while training.
