Puppy Separation Anxiety from Sister

My brother's 5 month old lab, Kenya, hates being separated from her 5 year old sister.

His girlfriend took their 5 year old dog for a walk, while Kenya stayed at home with my brother. He says, that she whined and carried on the whole time.

I thought I'd see if anyone has some suggestions that could help with this.

Having always been a 2 dog household I have always made it a point for the dogs to have time separate from each other. I alternate taking them for rides or somewhere special. Usually the younger one will bond quite strongly with the other and this will create separation anxiety. In the beginning when the older one is taken out leave the pup with something special like a Kong stuffed with something really yummy.

My dogs are now 7 yo & 5 yo and I still make it a point for them to have separate time. While I'm sure the one left home would prefer not to be, it isn't a big deal anymore.
