Mikey enjoying his delicious bone. Notice he is gripping with his dew claw (one reason I don't remove them). And yep, I need to make friends with my dremel. ;)

They are SO cute! So I am confused? Do you have three puppies with you still? Are you keeping three? If not, plop one on a plane and send him my way. Hubby is begging for a guard dog and LOVES rotties. :D

Milton and Mikey will be staying. Mikey might be placed later, it just depends on how things work out.

Mick has a new home, but they are not picking him up until later in November. So lucky me, I get to spoil and train him for a while yet. :D

That's a monster bone! It's bigger than his head!! Lucky puppy!

Wanna know one of my three big incentives for buying a house sooner rather than later? So I can have a Rottie pup!

Your dogs are stunning! They aren't so wee anymore. They're going to be some very handsome dogs

Sheepjoke, I am really very lucky to have a great supplier nearby me (30 minutes away, a gorgeous drive through the country).

I pay .98 a lb for coarse-ground beef, 40% fat. Their organ meat mix is $1.15 a lb, I think, (heart, liver, kidney, tripe). Occasionally I buy straight ground tripe, but it's a little pricey at $1.55/lb.

I also buy the bones from them, .55 a lb. Between the 3 big girls I have been spending about $125/$150 per month feeding them, total. This includes the supplements I buy for them. I expect my bill to increase by $30 or so a month as the 2 puppies grow up and start eating more.

Not cheap, but not that bad either. I do buy some chicken at Walmart, they sell leg quarters for .48/lb. I always have several 10lb bags of that on hand. I buy other stuff for variety as it is on sale such as chicken backs, beef kidney, lamb or rabbit every now and then.

I have been a raw feeder for a long time, and altho this is a lot of money to feed dogs, I accept that expense. I always get comments about the coat and condition on my dogs, and you should see their mouths.

I also have an old gal who will be 11 in mid March who is still doing very well. If not for her one bum hip, you would take her for a dog 4-5 years younger than that.

:D
