is he a jrt or not?
he's stable on iv fluids with dex right now. his blood glucose was 41 when he came in, but it came up fine. he's eating a/d like a champ. when he came in, he had a painful belly and an extremely painful and swollen right wrist (you can see in the pictures). he screams his head off if you get anywhere near it. he had some pain meds and he's on antibiotics, but we're not sure what's going on. xrays of his belly and his leg were pretty non-remarkable.
he's not officially mine yet- the owner has not come in to sign the paperwork, but if the owner suddenly changes his mind and comes up with the money to pay for his care, more power to him. i don't want this puppy. i just don't want him to die.
(ok i kind of want him and i'm kind of falling for him, but i really really can't keep him and i know that.)
at this point, if he's deemed jrt by knowledgeable internet people, i'm going to contact a rescue. they'd do a lot better job of finding him an appropriate home than i would, i think. they know this breed and i don't, other than to know they need above-average owners.
