How do you get a puppy to stop biting? Hes in his teething
stage. He does chew on your hands. Thats not too bad. Its
bad when he jumps up and bites your face, legs, arms, ect.
Ouch! Is there a way to tell the dog "NO" bite! And to listen?
Hes a 12 week old pug.

My puppy LOVES to chew on my hands, I'm his favorite chew toy. Like the articles above say -- this is good! I teach him how hard he can bite before it hurts. He develops the habit of biting human flesh very very softly. Imagine how useful that habit will be once he's an adult and someone accidentally steps on his tail and he goes to bite them... very softly!! :D

Don't teach no bite before teaching to bite softly.

Louie still gets a little excited, but at least when he's calm he knows to bite softly. Once he gets excited he starts biting harder and harder and I have to confine him for a little while until he settles down.

The "OW!" tactic works for most.

You said it's ok if he nibbles on your hands or whatever... My guys are like that too, they are allowed to play bite, when we wrestle and such, it's just like when I grab Roxy's neck or whatever with my arms, her mouth is the only way for her to do the same to me. So I allow it.

BUT, if he bites you somewhere he's not allowed or too hard, a sharp "OW!" or "OUCH!" should deter him from biting that hard or that place again.

Usually they'll give you a funny look, like "What's wrong with you?" and stop.

If that doesn't work, usually ending the play session sends them the message. If I bite mommy hard, or in the face ( ) we don't get to play anymore. Hrmph. Maybe I won't bite her there because I love to play with mommy! :D

when your puppy bites try yelping, like an injured dog would do. Usually they will get startled and stop. If that does not work then simply get up and leave the puppy for a couple minutes and come back to see if he can play nice.

I can't change his food or water bowl with out him biting my hands and arms. I don't mean a nibble,nibble,nibble.. I mean PINCH! My husband was on the toilet with the dog by his feet. The dog jumped up and bit him on the "Woo woo." After that I knew there was a big problem. He also gos for your checks,
nose and lip.
