Hi Everyone,

I have had Simon for 2 weeks now, but have only started calling him Simon since x mas day. He has no clue that i am calling him.
I am wondering how long does it take a pup to acknowledge/ respond to their name.
Thanks

Gee, I never paid attention to how long my dogs learned their names. It didn't take long though. Make sure when you say his name that you are looking right at him and he acknowledges you. He'll catch on soon enough.

I been saying his name, singing his name, but he just sits and looks at me... looking sorta lost. I guess it's just going to take some time. I must say, having a puppy in the house is such fun.
Thanks

He'll figure it out, sometimes it just takes time. He may be trying to tell you he doesn't like Simon, though! lol ;)
lol, thats something that would happen to me. :D
When I was a teenagers my lil brother came home with a puppy, we looked and decided it was a boy, named him Elvis. A few weeks later someone broke the news to us that he was really a she. :)

Nina ~ How old is Simon? It didn't take Rookie long at all to learn his name BUT he was about 10 weeks old when I got him. Now even when he hears his name on TV (for example...the movie "The Rookie") he stops in mid-step and looks at the TV. It's quite comical. You are very right about it being so much fun having a puppy around. It is neat to watch them learn. Rookie used to sit at the front door at my work and bark at a white plastic bag that was blowing in the wind. I mean he would get very loud and aggressive (at that bag) like he was protecting us.) I finally took him out and let him get up close to it. He was a little scared but he was determined to find out what it was.) Enjoy your new baby! "Simon"
