puppy growing up to fast!

LOL Chance was humping at 9 weeks too. He started about 3 days after we brought him home! I'm not sure how to get them to stop we just redirect the behavior to something more fun and exciting, and he usually gets over it.
At this point I think it's just a dominance thing for them. I don't think it has much to do with.... you know.... hormones.
It's kinda funny though, he is so young and new at it, he actually starts humping with all four legs on the ground, before he actually goes for anyone. Then when we put him down he might have a few humps left then to.
Everyone I know said to get him neutered as soon as possible. I'm sure it will help. But I've seen dogs that still hump even after a neuter and even spay. Girl dogs do it to. Usually when playing to establish like I said dominance.

Is he humping people or other dogs or objects or the air? If it is the air or other dogs then there is no need to stop it unless the dog he is humping is being bothered very badly. For people it needs to stop. Just do what mamabear said and redirect him to doing something more fun like playing with a toy or tell him to sit and give a treat and then play with him. For objects also redirect and praise when he plays with the right things. Once neutered he may grow out of it but many dogs continue. It is usually not sexual it's either play (by play I mean practice, dogs and cats for that matter practice every real life situation they would encounter in the wild through play and that includes sex) so he is doing it for fun and practice. Or he could be doing it for dominance which dogs will usually do with other dogs. He will eventually stop if you stick to redirecting him.
