Through reading back of some of the posts, I came to a conclusion that I will be purchasing Innova Puppy Dry food for my 3 1/2 month old shih tzu. (Innova is good right?!)

Now here's the next questions. How many times do you feed him a day? How much canned meat food should I feed him also? Is it okay to leave out dry food all the time?

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks!

Innova is an excellent food.

At 3 1/2 months old, you should still feed 3-4 times daily. Ask the breeder what the pup is currently used to and go from there.

Free feeding is not a good choice, taking control of "all good things in life", including food, will make training easier and feeding on a schedule will help tremendously with potty training, since if you always feed at the same times, you will easily be able to predict when the pup has to go potty.

There is no need to feed dry food at all, canned food is actually the healthier choice. If you want to feed dry food for convenience, I wouldn't use more than half the daily food intake.

If you want exact amounts, I'd need the pup's current weight and expected adult weight.
