At what age did you start giving your dog 2 meals instead of 3 meals a day?
Just wondering.

Tucker went from 3 meals to 2 in like a week, so by 11-12 weeks. He just didn't seem to finish any of the meals so we dropped to 2 and he's been fine with that.

I don't remember for sure, but I know Finn didn't get 3 meals a day for long. I cut it down to two sometime around 4-5 months.

Thats comforting, I have cut Quinn's meals back just because she didn't seem to need 3 so much anymore and got out of the routine of 3 a-day. I thought it was too young though and have felt guilty everyday I've forgotten.

Juno will probably always be on 3 meals... she has a sensitive stomach, I have a feeling I'd be cleaning up some runny poop if I didn't break it down for her. She's 18 months old. It definitely depends on the dog, but most could probably handle the switch by 12 months.

Can't remember exactly but took cues from my dogs when they weren't interested in so many meals.

My friend whose dogs are prone to bloat feeds 3 times a day.

I heard it was good to feed 3 times a day until they're around 6 months. I guess it helps with potty training especially since their digestive system is growing with them. Just what I heard though.

I feed once a day as an adult, sometimes a snack at supper while I eat ;)

My entire life I’ve gone to my Aunt’s house to celebrate New Years. She has a traditional Japanese New Years celebration with plenty of great food and people moving in and out of the house all day. While taking a break from my eating frenzy I had the chance to talk to a friend about his new 6 month old puppy. We chatted for a while about what great dogs labs are…I have Stetson my Guide Dog Puppy in Training and he recently got a purebred lab. During our conversation he brought up the fact that his dog would eat like a horse and would consume a 40 pound bag of dog food in less than 2 weeks. That sounded like a lot to me and I asked his age (6 months) and his weight (75 pounds). He was feeding his lab about twice as much as I fed my two dogs.

Fidget didn't want three meals a day after a while. She would only eat two. Now she is down to being fed once a day. I would like her to have a breakfast/supper, but she just doesn't want two meals...
