We are feeding our new puppy (lab x golden retreiver cross) a brand called "Authority" (for puppies) from Petsmart. Does anyone have experience with this brand name or can give me advise on what to use. He seems to love it.;)
Thanks in advance!

It's really not good food. If you only have access to petsmart or petco, blue buffalo and natural balance are the best you will find there. If you have independent food stores in your area, the best you can get for your dog is innova, canidae or solid gold. For Innova and Canidae, their all lifestage formula is the best for large breed puppies, for solid gold I'm not sure though.

Canidae is the cheapest, it's $35 a bag, but you will need to feed much less of it, so the bag should last you much longer than a bag of authority.

the nearest kahoots here only carries canidae, so i use that, my boxer (zoey) loves it. it is pretty cheap compared to other dog food brands and contains all natural ingredients. i usually feed zoey 2 1/2 cups a day, i buy a 5 lb. bag ever week and a half to 2 weeks.

Have you ever thought about going raw? ;)
thought about it, tried it, and as much as my dogs loved it I was afraid that they weren't getting enough nutrients. I will supplement my dog's kibble and canned food with raw meats and bones though and that they love just as much. I feed canidae now, I used to feed Eagle Pack but it is a little less expensive to feed the canidae so we have switched to that. Our dogs LOVE it. It's an all life stages formula as well so you can feed it to a puppy and then not have to worry about switching them over to another formula when they are maturing you just have to lessen the amount that they eat. Canidae isn't very expensive either, it is the same price if not a little cheaper than most grocery store or petstore brand foods and you feed less so the bag will last you longer. I would seriously look into switching to Canidae, Eagle pack, or Innova for your puppy. Although I have heard good things about Kirkland brand dog food that is sold at Costco (I believe the Kirkland brand chicken meal and rice is what I have heard a few people say they feed their dogs).
