Hey, has anybody ever taken a dog or puppy to Disney World?
We are going in July, yeah I know it's hot but we did it once before and it worked out very well! My husband looked up dog kennels at Disney and they have basically two kinds. One is more expensive and they do everything for your dog including two walks everyday. The other is less expensive but you are required to visit your dog and walk it at least twice everyday. I prefer the second one. The whole point in taking Molly with us is so we can see her everyday.:D
Our other option is to leave her here in a kennel. Then we wouldn't see her until we got home.:( That would be about a week.
Let me know what you think, Thanks!

Leave her. Depending on how far it is the trip might be stresfull on her. How old is she? You should not board a dog who doesnt have ALL the nessisary shots PLUS time for them to kick in.

For me personally, given those options, I'd kennel her at Disney in the less expensive one so that she will see you a few times a day. It just seems to me that that would less stressful than a whole week away from you. Course, if she doesn't travel well you'd have to take that into consideration.

Is there anyone who could pet sit for you?? That's what I always do.

Thanks for the comments. I would really like to take her with us. We stop at almost every rest stop along the way when we travel. Early on she was not a great traveler but she really likes the car now.

On the other hand my 19 year old daughter is not likely to go with us. We're trying to talk her into it but trips with mom and dad are so "not cool". Molly could stay with Angela. Now the question is how reliable would Ang be with her. I feel certain she would feed Molly but I am not so sure she would walk her and get her outside for pottying. Angela loves to play with her but she is unlikely to get up early enough in the morning to prevent a mess. Of course it would only be a week and I am fairly sure she would do as good of a job as a neighbor.

I'm sure she could handle that for a week at her age !!! Why not offer her part of what boarding would cost you ?? Don't forget how much you'd save if she doesn't go !! Rooming , food and ticket wise !! I'd pay her to stay home !

I would worry that it would be stressful for the dog to see you everyday and have you continue to leave them.

Yeah, it sounds like staying home is absolutely the best option. I would hope a 19 year old would be responsible enough to take care of her puppy without her parents' help.

Y'all are right. She can probably handle it. My husband already said he wanted to give her the whole boarding cost plus her ticket price at Disney. That should be plenty to motivate her. I just have the same insecurities of leaving Molly now as I had leaving Angela and her brother when they were little. Isn't that weird!

How old is the dog? If you're worried that your daughter won't take care of her, and feel more comfortable boarding her, I would go this route. You have to go with your gut instinct sometimes. It does, though, at least I think, depend on age.

Don't blame you !!! I guess Ollie is off to camp Bow-Wow in a few weeks ....So $$$ for me ! I'm sure family would take him if I ask , but it's for 10 days and with them working he'd be caged all day . Not fair for him ! This way he's out with dogs all day and only in his " cabin " at night .Wish that he could go with me !! I miss him !
