I think they are some of the cutest and most adorable dogs ever. I love their little barrel chests and squishy noses.

There are a pair of pugs on our normal walk route. Barney is a three-legged pug, about a year old. Apparently Barny jumped from his owner's arms as a puppy and landed badly on his front leg, and they had to take it. He doesn't seem to know that he's missing a limb. Barney was recently joined by a 11 week old pug named Clyde. (Barney and Clyde.)

They're cool little dogs. Very friendly.

I own three and one is pregnant. I can't wait to meet my new little puglets soon.

They are my favorite breed and until you own one, it's just impossible to understand what is so darn addicting about the breed! ;)

showpug i have q about pugs what is there temperment like?
As puppies they can be very active, wild and hyper. Around a year and a half they start to mellow and become the worlds BEST lap dogs. In general, the breed is very stable, loving, tolerant and comical. A pug is all about mischief, showing off and making you laugh. They truly are dogs with a sense of humor.

On the other hand, they can be very stubborn, good at ignoring commands and persistent! Oh, and they shed TON! That isn't a temperament issue, but anyone considering the breed should know that they shed all year and it's massive quantities.

The one I had for 13 years was very funny. Like Showpug said, a real comedian. He was a snuggler and lover, too. And, as stated, a HUGE shedder. She's not exaggerating about that at all!! That's something I did not know. I just looked at them as short-haired, so I had no idea what I was in for with the shedding.

Our pug has a wonderful personality. He's in instigator with the big dogs, and then he'll run and hide once they are riled up. He sleeps a lot, you can't get him outside before 9 or 10am, but he's also very active while he's awake, he'll run and play. Definitely a lap dog- he doesn't lay on you but loves to lay next to you. Horrible shedder, even on a raw diet he sheds more than our other 2. You pick him up and you get little blonde pug hairs all over you. He is a complete fart factory though, and he has a habit of laying under my desk and emitting all kinds of toxins, until I shoo him away.

I really REALLY want a black one. Almost got one last year but the breeding didn't take...then on the repeat they lost all but 2 and they were obviously keeping them both....*sigh*. I am torn between getting another Beagle for my programme, and a Pug just as a pet...difficult!

I wanted a fawn one, but what the breeder had available was a black one. I was disappointed for a few seconds, but he was the cutest dog. If I were going to get a Pug again, now I'm partial to the black ones.

I don't know if I'll ever have another Pug, but it's definitely one of my favorite breeds now. I absolutely love them.

Showpug, are your pugs really playful with each other? I always thought pugs were neat and I was just curious if they'd be a good match for Joey's personality. Joey loves to play play play with other dogs intensely and then he'll konk out and nap for a few hours and then get up to start the process all over again.

My pugs were always really playful together except now two of them are seniors and prefer a more sophisticated lifestyle, LOL  To answer your question, yes they love to play with other dogs.
