Problem barking

Our four month old puppy (wirehaired fox terrier) very rarely barks during the day, not even when shut in while we go out. But she has suddenly developed the habit of barking and howling when sht in (with her father, who she lives with) at night. He curls up and goes to sleep, but she screams and yaps for about half an hour before settling down. Her tail is wagging the whole time and she does not seem distressed. We have tried leavin ght light on, waiting until she is quite for a couple of minutes and giving her treats - but she starts up again in a while. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be VERY welcome!

Seriously, give her zero response. She will learn to stop, but ONLY if you stop giving her ANY attention, positive or negative, for it.
