So you arent going to give me your opinion on what makes a puppy mill different from a BYB different from a Hobby breeder different from a Professional breeder?
I try not to use the word puppymill. It is an over used misunderstood derogatory slanderous term that has lost just about any and all meaning as it has been applied to anyone and everyone, you just don't have to like them.
Same with BYB. Its an old tired term with little or no grounds or use except to malign and abuse people.
Here is how I prefer to catagorize things. Although sometimes I slip...
HobbyBreeder--some one involved in the competative sport of dogs. The goal of the breedings are usually focused on producing contenders in their chosen arena.
ProfessionalBreeder--Involved in dogs producing competative animals for their chosen arena. These breeders would have a kennel and the primary income would be from the sport of dogs, the dogs, or some aspect of the fancy.
Commercialbreeder--Not invoved in the fancy. Sole purpose is to produce pets to sell to the public. Either direct or indirect.
Home Pet breeder--JQP who chooses to breed their dog. Usually they have little to no knowledge about their breed and do it by motive of loving their dog or cat.
Unethicalbreeder--any person or persons who fails to keep dogs in AWA conditions. They may or may not show. They may have one or 100 dogs.
