Anyone feeding this way is asked to please help out a friend that is having issues with her vet. He would like to only see peer reviewed information but in the face of not having any, she is resorting to sheer volume of so called anecdotal evidence and asking people to please email her with the following information:
Okay, I want to try to do something here that is effective.
Pleeeeease help me.

My vet wants to see some proof of this, "so called diet". I am no research scientist so,
I thought I could compile some evidence.

I am asking that anyone who feeds raw diet-prey model to dogs or cats, please email me with the follow information.

For facts sake but keep privacy, if you could include your first name only and location.
-type of animal
-how many
-age
-how long it has been eating raw
-health issues (some or none)
-types of food, diet is made up of
-how much and how often

I am going to attempt to reach all the sites I know of so far and hopefully I can come up with a woping amount of feeders.

Please send to:
[email protected]
If you prefer a forum type to respond to rather than email, here is the link to the thread (close to 50 prey model feeders on this board) raw-diet-prey-model

Any other help that you could post in that link would be greatly appreciated.

why does she need to justify this to her vet?:) Its her choice..

I've done prey model but not long enough/often enough to really come to any conclusions.

I happily disagree with vets and just don't really care anymore. I do my own research.. AAHA, Dr Dodds for vaccs.. and did my own research on raw. None of the vet clinics I've been to liked either. I'm happy to stand on my own two feet and disagree now though. Vets aren't nutritionists and shouldn't be pushign any sort of diets, nor telling me others are wrong.

I don't think she's necessarily trying to "justify" it to her vet, but more to prove a point to him. Hey, if she can change his mind about it, then great! How many times have you had the arguments with your vet over raw?

Mine just shakes his head now, because I have all the answers....If I could go to him with any kind of paper showing him that dogs fed raw are not a risk to their owner's health, etc, I bet he'd stop shaking his head... Mind you, I didn't get my reminder card this year from him for heartworm and rabies, do you think he's trying to tell me something?
