remember that iti takes that excess stretched skin awhile to go back as well. THere is nothing for that but pure time. Some of your "pooch" maybe just that. I showed my best friend my tummy right after childbirth, i was horrified, and so was she. So much she swore off ever having children and she didn't either! After a couple years, everything went back the way it was suppose to (with sit ups) except for the stretch marks and they too faded and are not nearly as noticable. Your tummy will never be totally the same, but you can consider that a badge of honor. I have never had a man complain, that is for sure.

Walking is great if you consciously make an effort to USE those glutes - make an effort to walk uphill, leaning forward and getting a good burn and stretch out of the glutes and leg biceps. What most people don't realize is to have great glutes you need great leg biceps.

And - lying on your stomach on a mat, stretch out with your hands over your head on the floor and your legs extended straight behind you. Stretch, breathing out, and slowly lift your legs, head and shoulders off the floor, feeling your glutes tighten and do the work. Hold that for several seconds, until you feel it burn, inhale as you release the stretch. Exhale, inhale again, and repeat as you exhale once more. It will also help strengthen your back and lower back and relieve muscle tension in the back and shoulder muscles.

Let me tell you your stomach will NEVER look the same again! Some people say their stomachs go right back but rarely does that happen :(. I do the ab lounger (100 crunches a day on it), I do pilates 3 times a week (I have a pilates dvd), I watch my diet. I eat salads and no more pop (except for 2 cans on the weekend), and I'm still holding onto my pooch! Ofcourse I had two kids basically back to back and they were both huges kids and c-sections so I was told that makes it harder. I still look like I'm pregnant and my son is almost 8 months old! I have just excepted myself. Sure I do the exercises but I think about a week ago it finally hit me and I excepted that I had kids and will never look the same again. We're getting a pool in the new house though so hopefully all the time that I spend in the pool in addition to my exercises might help me not look 5 months pregnant anymore!
