i'd put him on a hog, but then i'll let any reasonably fit dog give it a go.

WE have a full pit in Victor's Pets for Life org that goes into hospitals and nursing homes, and special events. Lola had quite a history too before she was adopted. A dog is what you do with it. Granted with a high prey drive you have to work harder but it is doable. Train well. Socialize well, be as responsible as you would be with any other dog of any other breed. And yes...do you have pics? I would love to meet. With a standard poodle that might be a very intelligent dog. I have met wonderful standard poodle crosses. Congrats on your puppy. i am sorry you lost your pug.

Just saw this on CL. Gave up already?

Mellow, loving pup to great home (NE PA)

10 week old poodle/stafordshire mix puppy needs a loving home. This little guy is smart as a whip and probably the most mellow pup you will ever meet. Well on his way to being housebroken and already learning commands, he will make an amazing pet with very little effort on your part. Amazing with kids, loves other dogs, and everyone he has met. He is the kind of dog you will be able to bring anywhere with you and have people fawn over. I am asking a rehoming fee of $75.00.

And you used the same pics that you showed us:

Ugh, what a shame. Such a sweet pup. Well, the pup deserves better than to be feared all its life because of its heritage anyway, so I hope he gets a good home that will like the dog for who he is, not fear him for what he's come from. I swear if that were in a humane society it'd be called a "terrier mix" and then the OP would never have known the difference.

That.is.SO.disappointing!

Ugh. That's so, so sad. That dog is adorable, totally a dog I'd adopt. Too bad it's not the right time and I'm in Oregon.

Ugh, just, ugh :wall:

I hope it's a mistake.

honestly the best thing for this dog would be to go into a home where people aren't going to be walking on eggshells around him and looking at him funny, waiting for him to maul the first child. that'd make a dog crazy, and likely to turn him into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

hopefully the rehoming fee will help him end up in a home that really wants him and is prepared to look at him as a dog and not as a bite waiting to happen.

he's a cute dog. i admit, i'd be tempted if i were closer and in the market for another dog.

It's probably better for them to re-home the pup now than turn it into a neurotic mess because THEY are afraid of it for no reason.

Hopefully it goes to someone who doesn't hold tight to the stigmas, who will treat it like the great dog it is, and give it the opportunities it deserves.

*sigh*

Shame. :( I don't even think he looks pit at all.
You know what? I thought the same thing when I saw the pictures of him. I was just waiting for someone else to say so first.

I really think that dog has shnauzer in it.
