Unless you've got a credit card to pay the $50 fee for calling the poison control hotline, I suggest you call your vet first. If the vet doesn't know offhand, have them call for you. ;)

well, sarah took Charlotte to work with her. The vet's receptionist did not know or have info off hand. Apparently it is used to treat spinal tumors in large dogs so im figuring the minute dose they questionably got is prob ok. She said she would check with the DR and call back if it was needed . I have jack at work with me. Poor little man has hives from the carpet we just got ( fumes? who knows what it is but i removed him from the area anyway...)( so my poor babies are a mess today but otherwise in good shape. I'll let you all know what the vet says if i hear back. And on the P.C note... they do charge you ~! i called when my dog accidentally got one of my klonapin! I couldnt afford that and the potental vet bills so I simply took him to the Emergency room. I think it should be free but who knows ...

I thought it was just used in the synthesis of glucose? Or maybe that's propylene glycol...

I dunno. Let us know what the vet says, I'm curious now.

Google says it's used to treat constipation and is very good at creating high osmotic concentrations.

Aha! I knew I'd heard of it before! Just remembered where.

It's used as an indicator to measure how much of a particular diet passes through the animal. Much larger doses are given to live stock all the time. Should pass right through him.
