Great article Renee. Hopefully, mine are safe, Brutus and Roxie will not eat food from a stranger. Maggie, I'm not sure. I need to find out.

Very interesting article. Thanks for posting it. I almost lost my pup because she ate something poisonous out in the yard when my mother left her outside for half an hour. :( She was drooling badly (cocker spaniel), she had the runs, was throwing up, had the shakes and must have been in pain. As soon as I saw the drool, I knew something bad had happened and rushed her to the vet. I spent 5 hours at the vet where the vet could watch her after giving her several shots, trying to stop the drooling, and making sure she was more comfortable. Poor sweety was not feeling well at all.

Luckily by the next day she was almost back to her normal self and I spent the day pulling up every kind of poisonous plant that I could find. The only thing I could not do anything about was the oak trees. One site I looked at said that acorns, leaves and bark (hmmm think it was bark) of the oak tree is poisonous to dogs.

I guess I am going to have to try and teach Penny to not pick up anything from the ground.....anybody see any pigs flying around yet? :(
