Beautiful. I miss seeing the pretty shapes of icicles here in the south.
love that first picture--just beautiful!
Oh that is so cool, no pun intended. The first picture looks like like porcupine needles stuck to the plant.
lovely pics. looks so tranquil.
Beautiful photos, Smkie!
I love the warm light on the icicles and I also love the mood of the landscape. The details in the plants is also great.
Lovely Smkie !!
Great pictures Smkie!! I especially like the first one and the third one ...nice detail of the fog ice crystals.
And ... you used the word!!!!
Have heard the phrase "hoar frost" before. But when spoken aloud, well ... it just sounds like something that shouldn't be discussed in polite company. :lol-sign:
(In case ya wondered ... "pogonip" is a Shoshone word for crystallized ice fog.)
THank you for telling me! I titled my photo series Pogonip because of your comment. I sent it to a friend of mine and she wrote back..is pogonip the name of the plant? I got to be alll smart sounding and said no..it's the name of the frost. THat and quill pig are my two new chazhound names for things.
I use to tell Mary she had hoar frost. It looked like it on her belly and legs in her old age.
